BULLFIGHTING
Collection pieces related to the cultural aspects that emerge from bullfighting as an artistic manifestation of Spanish cultural heritage. Barcelona inaugurated its first bullring in 1834 in the seaside neighbourhood of Barceloneta, known as El Torín. This was followed by two more, Las Arenas and La Monumental, with a total of three bullrings. This fact confirms the great popularity of this spectacle among Barcelona's society until the end of the 1980s, when it began its slow decline.
Posters and other representative objects that show the visual and conceptual imaginary of artists on themes that are perceived in the bullfighting scene: literature, animal fighting, popular traditions, attire, art and advertising, among others.
